The Toriaz AS-1’s intuitive controls enable both subtle and dramatic changes, making it easy to craft your unique sound. The touchpad-style keyboard and slider give you the ability to precisely modulate your sound mid-performance. The AS-1’s Keyboard and Scale mode guarantees your sounds get blended in perfect harmony, and Scale Mode allows you to change notes assigned to each key. Add energy using the slider to manipulate 7 different parameters, or change the pitch or adjust effects using the two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs).

In collaboration with Dave Smith himself, Pioneer DJ’s AS-1 synth is powered by a fully-programmable, true analog synthesis engine based on the discrete analog circuitry of Dave Smith Instruments’ Prophet-6 synthesizer, and incorporates brand-new digital distortion. With the AS-1’s dual FX engine you can get creative, employing a single effect or pairing a couple to add texture to your sound. The Toriaz AS-1 also inherits the Prophet-6’s 7 onboard effects (including Bucket Brigade Delay, Distortion, Ring Modulation, Chorus, and Maestro Phaser), as well as its analog filters.
